Expert Review Meeting Held for CCHDS Healthy City Project in Zhuzhou, Hunan

On December 26th, 2012, an expert review meeting was held for the “Action Plan to Build Zhuzhou into a Healthy City (2012-2020)”developed by Peking University China Center for Health Development Studies, commissioned by Zhuzhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission in Zhuzhou, Hunan, Central-south China. The meeting was attended by Ge Yanfeng, Director General of Department of Social Development, State Council Development Research Center; Zhang Yong, Deputy Director General of Bureau of Disease Prevention and Control, Ministry of Health; He Hong, Deputy Director General of Department of Medical Service Supervision, Ministry of Health; Yang Hongwei, Deputy Director of National Health Development Research Center, Ministry of Health; Dai Tao, Director of Institute of Medical Informatics, China Academy of Medical Sciences; Lei Haichao, Deputy Director General of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Health.

Prof. Meng Qingyue, Executive Director of CCHDS presented the “Action Plan to Build Zhuzhou into a Healthy City (2012-2020)”. The action plan was well received by all reviewers. Focusing on eight major actions, including healthy environment, diet and tobacco control, the plan aim to create a pro-health culture, improve health literacy and health status of people in Zhuzhou, and build Zhuzhou in to a national healthy city.
