On December 3rd 2011,CCHDS held the second workshop on payment systems and pooled purchasing mechanism of pharmaceuticals in Beijing. This workshop is funded by Pfizer Corporation, and it is part of the academic activities of the drug policy research project. The participants include representatives from Department of Planning and Financing, MoH, representatives from drug purchasing centers in 10 provinces, drug policy researchers from Shandong University and Peking University, and the director and staff of the public affairs & policy department of Pfizer Corporation. Dr. Sun Qian from Shandong University reported the results of a study on the supply chain of essential medicines, and Professor Meng Qingyue, Executive Director of the CCHDS, reported the problems and recommendations on zero mark-up policy of essential medicines system in China. All participants contributed to thoughtful discussions and comments on China’s drug policy research and
practice.
