Members of the study tour pointed out that Myanmar is designing a new health financing system. Their mission is to learn from China’s recent health system reform especially its experience with the New Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme. During the 5 days of their visit, a workshop was held between the delegates and CCHDS researchers and. CCHDS researchers introduced the delegates to the overall situation of China’s health system reform, development of health financing, pharmaceutical policy, public hospital reform, and the universal health insurance scheme of Taiwan. Discussion was held on the feasibility of new health financing system in Myanmar. The study group will be visiting local NCMS administrations and residents for a closer look at the management and operation of the NCMS fund under the arrangement of CCHDS.
The study tour was also received by Prof. Fang Weigang, Vice President for Research and International Cooperation, Peking University Health Science Center and Dr. Sun Qiudan, Director of Office of International Cooperation, Peking University Health Science Center.
