Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is akeycomponent of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Center for UHC, thecenter for UHChas carried out extensive research and policy advisory worksondevelopingmeasurementtools,as well as monitoring and evaluationof UHCat the global, regional and nationallevels.InalignmentwithChina's national context and with the support of the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China and the WHO, the UHC Index for China has been developed.Thecenter for UHChas conducted a systematic analysis of the progress of UHCacrosscountries in the Western Pacific Region and provided targeted policy recommendations. The main tasks of theCenterfor UHCinclude: (1) Conducting UHCmonitoring and evaluation at the global,regional and national levels, with a focus on health system strengthening as primary policy strategy. (2) Exploringpathways toachieve UHC by contributingtothe development of theWHOpolicy toolsand guidelines. (3) Providingtechnical support for countries in the Western Pacific Regiontoadvance progress towards Universal Health Coverage.
